THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A59* HEATHFIELD BRIDGE, ASPATRIA) (TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to the serious damage caused to the bridge parapet of Heathfield Bridge, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour along that section of the A596, Aspatria from a point approx. 570m south west of its junction with the C2002, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 2.4km. This follows and emergency notice dated 6 November 2018. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations. The Order will come into operation on 27 November 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
