THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (BUSH BROW, CARLISLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd to carry out Archaeological Surveys ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of Bush Brow, Carlisle from its junction with Victoria Viaduct to its junction with Borough Street.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows:
South Bound Vehicles: via Victoria Viaduct, Devonshire St, Lowther Street, Lonsdale Street, Spencer Street, Warwick Road, The Crescent, Court Square Brow and Borough Street. North Bound Vehicles: via Borough Street, Court Square Brow, English Street and Victoria Viaduct. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency personnel and emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3.Apply to delivery vehicles requiring access from Victoria Viaduct to the back of the B&M Store; and
4. Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 5 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 19 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
