ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (WASH LANE, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Wash Lane, Bury - Temp One Way Working The closure is in place to enable electrical works in the carriageway The proposed Order comes into operation on 24/08/20 and remains in force for up to 1 month (anticipated duration of works is 1 week).

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 39 BURY) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2020

The above Order was made on 10/08/20 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. If confirmed the effect of the Order will be to divert the footpath described in Schedule Part 1 to this notice as shown on the Order map.

A copy of the Order and map may be seen free of charge at the reception desk at Town Hall, Knowsley St, Bury, BL9 0SW from 9am - 4.30pm weekdays and one copy will be provided upon request.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Head of Engineering Public Rights of Way, at 3 Knowsley Place Bury BL9 0EJ or by email to

by 21/09/20. Please state the grounds on which it is made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order or if any so made are withdrawn the Council may instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it

Schedule Fart 1- The public footpath starts at its junction with Bridleway Number 41 Bury, 15 m NE of the access gates to Bradshaw Hill (Point A on the Order Plan, Grid Reference SD 8180 1289). The path travels in a northerly direction for 465m to a stile at the junction with Bridleway Number 33 Bury (Point B on the Order Plan Grid Reference SD 8172 1329). The path- has a natural grass surface. It is 465 m in length and has no defined width.

Schedule Part 2 -The diverted route starts at a field gate (Point C on the Order Plan Grid Reference SD 8186 1292) at a junction with Bridleway Number 41 Bury, 5m west of Bridleway Number 33, Bury. It continues northwards across a stone surface for 25m then in a north north-westerly direction with a natural grass surface for 225m. Turning in a north westerly direction and then north easterly for 132 metres with a grassed surface to a stile at the junction with Bridleway Number 33 Bury (Point B on the Order Plan, Grid Reference SD 8172 1329). The path is 382 m in length and has a width of 2.5 m throughout.
