THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A683 MIDDLETON HALL BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Thomas Armstrong to carry out bridge rebuilding works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the A683 Middleton Hall Bridge for a distance of approx. 30m either side of the centre line of the bridge.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and

available via the unrestricted sections of the A683, A684

(Sedbergh to Kirkby Stephen), A685, A6 Kendal, A5284

Windermere Road, A59I, A590 and A65.

N.B. To facilitate this diversion route it will be required to alter

the diversion route of the closure on the A684 Singleton Park

Road, Kendal with reference SL18/6358 and can be followed via

the unrestricted section of the A684, A683, A684 Sedbergh to

Kirkby Stephen, A685 and U856 Sandylands Road.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall apply to

vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

reference SLI8/6493.

The Order will come into operation on 3 September 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for approx. 7 weeks.
