THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS INTHE SOUTH LAKELAND AREA) (TEMPORAKYTRAFFIC REGULATION) (NQ2) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and



4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.



Plans showing the locations and details of the alternative routes are available for public inspection at the offices of Cumbria Highways, Sowerby Woods Depot, Bouthwood Road, Barrow, LAI44RD or Tet 0300 303 2992 Please quote the reference SL18/6452.

The Order will come into operation on 10 September 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for approx. 3 months in total.

SCHEDULE -EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U5254 Hartrigg Road, Kentmere - Approx. duration 4 days



From its junction with the U5782 extending in a predominantly northerly direction for a distance of approx, 1650m. There is no suitable alternative route.

2. Loughrigg Avenue & Tarn Close, Kendal- Approx. duration 2 days



(i) Loughrigg Avenue: For a distance of approx 17m either side of its junction with Tarn Close.

(ii)Tarn Close: From its junction with Loughrigg Avenue extending in an easterly then northerly direction

for a total distance of approx. 140m.

Alternative route via: the unrestricted section of Loughrigg Avenue, and Esthwaite Avenue

3. U5283 Skelsmergh Flat Farm, Skelsmergti - Approx. duration 3 days



From its junction with the C5065 extending in an overall north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 1250m. Alternative route via: the U5279 and C5065.

4. U5304 Skelsmergh Tarn, Skelsmergh - Approx. duration 3 days



From its junction with the A6 extending in a south easterly then north easterly direction for a distance of approx 1000m. Alternative route via: the unrestricted section of the U5304, U5303, C5063 and A6.

5. Hayfell Rise, Wasdale Close & Hayfell Avenue Kendal - Approx. duration 2 nights



(i) Hayfell Rise: From its junction with Hayfell Avenue extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx40m.



(ii) Wasdale Close: From its junction with Hayfell Rise extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx20m.



(iii) Hayfell Avenue: From its junction with Hayfell Rise extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx25m. There is no alternative route available.



6. Westmorland Shopping Centre (Car Park Entrance), Kendal - Approx duration 2 nights



From its junction with Blackhall Road extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx75m. There is no alternative route available.

7. U5266 Elph Howe, Staveley - Approx. duration 2 days



From its junction with the C5055 extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx280m. There is no alternative route available.

B. Mint Dale & Mint Close, Kendal - Approx duration 3 days

From their junction with Mintsfeet Road for its entirety. There is no alternative route available

9. Station Road, Broughton-in-Furness - Approx duration 3 days



From its junction with Market Furness extending in a south westerly then north westerly direction for a total distance of approx235m. Alternative route as follows:- North west bound: via the Foxfield Road, A595 and Griffen Street. North east bound: via Griffen Street and Market Street

10. U5167 Wraysholme Lane, AHithwaite - Approx duration 2 days



From a point approx440m south of its junction with the B5277 extending in a southerly then south westerly direction for a distance of approxJOOm.

Alternative route via: the unrestricted section of the U5167, B5277, C5044 and the U5168.

11. C5066 Sedbergh Road, Kendal - Approx. duration 2 days



From a point approx300m west of its junction with the C5067 extending in an overall westerly direction for a distance approx485m. Alternative route via: the unrestricted sections of the C5066, C5067 and A684.

12. Castle Crescent, Kendal - Approx duration 3 days



(i) From its junction with Castle Street extending in a south easterly then south westerly distance for a distance of approx. 160m; and including



(ii) Castle Crescent side roads. There is no alternative route available.



13. A65 Fowelstone to Spital Bridge - Approx duration 2 weeks (evenings only)



From its junction with the C5087 extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1800m. Alternative route as follows:

More than 7.5 tonnes in weight via: the unrestricted section of the A65, A6 and A683. Less than 7.5 tonnes in weight - South east bound via: the unrestricted sections of the A65, A590, A591, A6 Milnthorpe Road, Kirkland, Highgate, Lowther Street, New Street, Blackhall Road, Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Wildman Street, Castle Street, A684 and A683.

Less than 7.5 tonnes in weight - North west bound via: the unrestricted sections of the A65, A683, A684, Ann Street, Stramongate, New Road, Aynam Road, Romney Road, A6 Milnthorpe, A591 and A590.

14. A592 Newby Bridge - Approx. duration 2 weeks (evenings only)



From a point approx2600m north west of its junction with the A590 extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approx 1900m.

Alternative route via: the unrestricted sections of the A592, A590, A591 and A5074.
