THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH

DARWEN (HOB LANE, EDGWORTH) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, propose to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to allow excavation works to be carried out in the verge/carriageway for the installation of cabling for new streetlight connections.

The effect of the Order is to close Hob Lane, Edgworth to all vehicular traffic from a point 80 metres from its junction with Blackburn Road, for a distance of 220 metres in a south westerly direction.

The diversion route for affected traffic will be via Hob lane, Blackburn Road, Bolton Road, Wellington Road, High Street, Greens Arms Road, Batridge Road, Overshores Road, Entwistle Hall Lane, Crow Trees Lane and Hob Lane, and vice versa.

The Order will come into force at 8:00am on Tuesday, 14th March 2017, and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5:00pm on Thursday, 16th March 2017.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
