Public Path Diversion Order 2017
On 26* April 2018 Blackburn with Blackburn with Darwen Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath as described in Schedule 1 to this Notice onto the route described in Schedule 2 and as shown on the Order Map.
A copy of the Order and Map may be examined free of charge at the Information Desks, Town Hall, Blackburn and Town Hall Darwen on Mon-Fri inclusive between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. (excluding Bank Holidays). Copies of the Order may be purchased at the price of 50p.
The order comes into force on 26th April 2018, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice, make an application to the High Court.

SCHEDULE 1 - LINE OF EXISTING ROUTE
The part of Public footpath 159 Edgworth to be diverted is shown on the attached plan by a solid bold line at points A-D. Public Footpath 159 Edgworth, runs from Point A (375429, 415472), a position to the east of Lower Fold, in a north-westerly direction for 91.8m passing close to the northern wall of the Lower Fold buildings before heading in a roughly south-westerly direction to Point D (375360, 415479) the east of a stile.
SCHEDULE 2 - LINE OF DIVERSIONARY ROUTE
The proposed diversion route is shown on the attached plan by the bold dashed line A-B-C-D. From Point A (375429, 415472) the diversion route will follow an existing 1.8m wide path running in a roughly north­westerly direction for 46m to point B (375400, 415507) to meet an existing field gate which is 3.3m wide. The diversion route will then continue in a north-westerly direction along a 3.0m wide grassy track for a distance of 25m to point C (375381, 415,522). At Point C the route will turn in a south-westerly direction passing through a gap and continue between two fence lines on an existing 1.8m wide path for 50m to meet Point D (375360, 415479) where the diversion re-joins the existing Public Footpath 159 east of a stile.
