Woodside Close, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (A685 Appleby Road, Kendal And U5860 Woodside Close, Endmoor) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:-

1. A685 Appleby Road, Kendal from its junction with Sandylands Road extending in a northerly direction for approx 90m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Appleby Road, Queen Katherine's Avenue and A6 Shap.

Duration: from 4 January 2023 for 1 night between 1800 hours and 2200 hours.

2. U5860 Woodside Close, Endmoor from its junction with Woodside Road extending in a westerly direction for approx. 40m.

There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.

Duration: from 10 January 2023 for 1 day between 0900 hours
and 1500 hours.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road;

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is TTRO/2099 and TTRO/2090.

The Order will come into operation on 4 January 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
