The County Of Cumbria (Various Footpaths In The South Lakeland Area) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians) (No.I) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable die Canal and Rivers Trust to carry out works for the installation of signs on the Lancaster Canal towpath ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following sections of footpath in the South Lakeland Area:

1. Footpath No.536076 in the Parish of Kendal for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid reference 352022 491744;

2. Footpath No.532006 in the Parish of Hincaster for a distance of approx 10 metres, at grid references 351288 485110 and 350857 485068;

3. Footpath No.564002 in the Parish of Preston Patrick for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid reference 353730 482997;

4. Footpath No.565004 in the Parish of Preston Richard for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid references 353410 483502, 352866 4838l2and 353210483630;

5. Footpath No. 569001 in the Parish of Sedgwick, for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid references 351333 487022, 351057 486650 and 350783 486272;

6. Footpath No.572001 in the Parish of Stainton for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid reference 352257 485406; and

7. Footpath No.572003 in the Parish of Stainton for a distance of approx. 10 metres at grid reference 352275 485399.

The Order will come into operation on I April 2022 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that the works will take approx. 3 months in total and will be phased with each closure required for 2 days.
