Kendal Market Place, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (Kendal Market Place And Branthwaite Brow, Kendal) (Kendal Music Festival) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Kendal Music Festival ("the Event") in Kendal and to enable members of the public to watch the Event, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 16(B)(6) of the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Kendal:

1. Market Place - for its entire length; and

2. Branthwaite Brow - for its entire length.

There are no suitable alternative routes available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles; and

(ii) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is SL22 - E14.

The Order will come into operation on 8th October 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required between 0900 hours and 2200 hours on Saturday 8 October 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
