THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE SOUTH LAKELAND AREA)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.8) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway repair works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are specified in the Schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 5 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 2 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. U5532 Pelter Bridge, Rydal - From 5 September 2022 for approx. 2 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with the U5532, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 300m
No alternative route available.
2. A595 Grizebeck - From 7 September 2022 for approx. 3 nights (between 20:00 - 05:00) (Ref: SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with the A5092 extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the C5009.
Alternative route: via the unrestricted sections of the A595, A5086, A66, A6, A591, A590, and A5092.
3. Main Street, Grange over Sands - From 21 September 2022 for approx. 3 nights (between 18:30 - 01:00) (Ref:SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with the B5277 Grange roundabout extending in a westerly direction to its junction with Pig Lane.
Alternative routes:
Eastbound: via Kents Bank Road, Park Road, and the B5277.
Westbound: via the B5277, U5737, and Kents Bank Road.
4. Cart Lane, Grange - From 26 September 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with Carter Road extending in a northerly then north westerly direction to its junction with Kents Bank Road.
Alternative route: via Kents Bank Road, Allithwaite Road, and Carter Road.
5. West Hills Drive, Ulverston - From 17 October 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with Mountbarrow Road extending in a westerly direction for approx. 375m.
No alternative route available.
6. Brook Road, Windermere - 29 September for approx. 2 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/12)
From its junction with New Road extending in an easterly direction to its junction with Lake Road.
Alternative route: via New Road and Lake Road.
