(FOOTPATH NO.575032 IN THE PARISH OF STRICKLAND ROGER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable South Cumbria Rivers Trust to carry out works for the removal of Bowston Weir and associated works both upstream and downstream of the weir, adjacent to the footpath ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 190 section of Footpath No.575032 at Bowston Weir in the Parish of Strickland Roger, between Grid Refs: 349782 496769 and 349657496902.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians although an informal diversionary route will be provided alongside the closed section when possible and deemed safe to do so, whilst the restriction is in place, which will be indicated on site by the display of the relevant traffic signs. The Order will come into operation on 15 June 2021 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although ft is anticipated that it will only be required for 3 1/2 months.
