- DEVELOPMENT WITHIN A CONSERVATION AREA -- DEVELOPMENT AFFECTING THE SETTING OF A LISTED BUILDING -- DEVELOPMENT AFFECTING A PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY -- EIA APPLICATION ACCOMPANIED BY AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT-- DEVELOPMENT NEEDING AN "APPROPRIATE ASSESSMENT' -- DEVELOPMENT WITHIN 10 METRES OF "RELEVANT RAILWAY LAND" -

Notice is hereby given that the Environment Agency is applying to South Lakeland District Council for planning permission for the following:

■ PROPOSAL: Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme comprising the raising of linear defences along the rivers Kent and Mint through Kendal including new and raised flood walls, new and raised embankments, ground raising, pumping station and associated changes to the public realm and landscaping.

? LOCATION: Land adjacent to Rivers Mint and Kent extending from adjacent to Lakeland Distribution Centre to Helsington Mills.

Members of the public may inspect copies of: (1) the application; (2) the plans; (3) the environmental statement; (4) a draft appropriate assessment; and (5) other documents associated with the application on a monitor at South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DL (9am - 5pm, Mon. - Fri.) or by visiting www.southlakeland.gov.uk. Anyone who wishes to make representations about this application should submit their comments online through the Council's website or write to the Development Management Team at the above address. Comments should be submitted by 20 December 2018.
