The Lake District National Park Authority has entered into agreements with the relevant landowners to create: a bridleway from Boat House to Larch Cottage alongside the road from SD 3626 9666 to SD 3619 9685 in Claife Parish, a footpath from the C5024 (Rusland Valley Road) at SD 3472 8664 generally westwards through Border Moss Wood and then along river embankment to the existing footpath at the east end of Crooks Bridge.

DIVERSION OF FOOTPATH 583005, ORCHARD HOUSE, WITHERSLACK PARISH The above order made on 11 June 2018 will divert two sections of the footpath at Orchard House to a line a few metres further west (SD 4312 8400 to SD 4311 8406) and a few metres further north (SD 4313 8407 to SD 4316 8409), as shown on the order plan.

You can also buy copies from the Authority for £3 each.

Any representations about, or objections to, the order should be sent in writing to the Head of Park Management at the above (LDNPA) address; to arrive no later than 27 July 2018. If we receive none, or if all received are withdrawn, we may confirm an unopposed order. If an order is submitted to the Secretary of State for confirmation we will include any outstanding representations and objections.

On 11 June 2018 we confirmed the above orders to divert the footpath at Long Garth between SD 1807 9196 and SD 1813 9220 from a line through the new barn to a new route in the field to the west, and to create a footpath from the footpath near Low Craghall (SD 1836 9172) eastwards to the public road at Frith Hall, as shown on the order plan. The orders will come into force on 28 June 2018. If any person aggrieved by the orders wants to question their validity, or any provision contained in it, they can apply to the High Court within six weeks from 28 June 2018. The grounds for applying are that: the orders were not made within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended), or that any requirement of the Act (as amended), or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with.
