THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE SOUTH LAKEAND AREA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO.1) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purpose of an undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into the section of road to which the order applies; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 16 April 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that ft will only be required for approx. 3 months in total. 4. Jutland Avenue, Ravenstown - Approx. Duration: I Day From it's junction with the C5045 extending in a south westerly direction for its entire length. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the C5045 Winder Lane.

5. U5I68 Holywell Lane, Flookburgh - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the US 167 Wraysholme Lane extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1660m. There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.

6. U5474 High Oaks, Sedbergti - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the A683 in a north westerly and then south westerly direction for approx. 765m. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via die A683 and B6256.

7. U5293 and U5290 and C5069 Old Scotch Road, Sedbergh - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the A684, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 4790m. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the the A684 and B6257.

B. C5057 Garnett Bridge Road - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the C5056 extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 3665m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C5057, the A6 and C5056.

10. U5414 Jubilee Lane, Lupton - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the U5413 Newbiggin Lane extending in a northerly direction for approx 890m. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the C5087, U5413 and U5412 Newbiggin Lane.

11. U5412 and U5413 Newbiggin Lane, Kirkby Lonsdale - Approx. Duration: I Day From its junction with the C5087 extending in a north westerly direction for approx 1085m. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the U5412, U54II and C5087.
