ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A590 TRUNK ROAD [JUNCTION WITH A5074 LYTH VALLEY ROAD] [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A590 Trunk Road in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to accommodate works involving United Utilities to be carried out in safety.

a) The Order will impose a 30 mph speed restriction on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:



i) the eastbound carriageway, from a point 1652 metres west of the centreline of the River Gilpin Bridge, to a point



294 metres east of the same point;

ii) the westbound carriageway, from a point 1361 metres east of the centreline of the River Gilpin Bridge, to a point



1652 metres west of the same point;

b) The Order will ban all traffic on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:



i) on one lane of the eastbound carriageway, from a point 931 metres west of the centreline of the River Gilpin Bridge, to a point 119 metres east of the same point;



ii) on one lane of the westbound carriageway, from a point 650 metres east of the centreline of the River Gilpin Bridge, to a point 232 metres west of the same point;



iii) from turning right from the A5074 trunk road onto the A590 trunk road travelling westbound.



The prohibitions and restrictions are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 0600 hours on Wednesday 8 February 2017 and ending at 1800 hours on Thursday 13 April 2017. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A590 and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or winter maintenance vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
