THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A592 STORKS) (TEMPORARY 30MPH AND I0MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Balfour Beatty to carry out works to replace and divert a gas main ("the Works), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to: ¦
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of the A592 Storrs from a point approx.50m north east of its junction with Middle Entrance Drive, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 100m

Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of the A592 Storrs from a point approx.50m north east of its junction with Middle Entrance Drive, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 100m
N.B. The 30 miles per hour speed restriction will operate where work is ongoing but the contractor's operatives and plant are not on site. It is required to protect road users passing through restricted width traffic lanes.
2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 10 miles per hour along that section of the A592 Starrs from a point approx.50m north east of its junction with Middle Entrance Drive, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 100m

N.B. The 10 miles per hour speed restriction will operate where contractor's operatives and plant are working on site. It will be operated on a convoy system with a lead vehicle controlling traffic speed to protect the workforce. No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 2 January 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 30 days.
