ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE M6 MOTORWAY [JUNCTION 35 NORTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY AND SLIP ROADS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) Intends to make an Order on the M6 Motorway in the Districts of Lancaster and South Lakeland in the Counties of Lancashire and Cumbria to enable resurfacing, crack repairs, replacement of road markings and road studs; to be carried out in safety.

a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed restriction on the northbound carriageway of the M6 Motorway, from a point 10 metres south of the centreline of Back Lane overbridge, to a point 20 metres south of the centreline Tarn Lane overbridge;

b) The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M6 Motorway:

i. the northbound carriageway, from a point 295 metres north of the centreline of Kellet Road overbridge, to a point 265 metres north of the centreline of the Junction 35 Carnforth Interchange overbridge;

ii. the northbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 35.

c) The Order will allow the hardshoulder to be used as a running lane, from a point 784 metres north of the centreline of the Junction 35 Carnforth Interchange overbridge, to a point 244 metres south of the centreline of the Tarn Lane overbridge. A 50 miles per hour speed restriction will be imposed on all traffic using the hardshoulder.

The restrictions and prohibitions are expected to take place between 2000 hours and 0600 hours during a period starting on Tuesday 5 September 2017 and ending on Friday 8 September 2017. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway and local roads will be well signed.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
