THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (TANPITS LANE, STATION LANE AND NEDDY HILL,

BURTON-IN-KENDAL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Broadband for Rural North to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Burton-in-Kendal:

1. Tanpits Lane, from its junction with the A6070 to its junction with Station Lane;



Alternative Route: via A6070 Boon Walks, Neddy Hill and Station Lane

2. Station Lane, from its junction with Drovers Way, extending in an overall south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 210m;



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Station Lane, C5089 Station Road and Duke Street, B6384 Burton Lane,

A6070 Burton in Kendal, A6070 Boon Walks and Neddy Hill.

3. Neddy Hill, from its junction with Drovers Way to its junction



with the A6070:

Alternative Route: via the A6070 Boon Walks, Tanpits Lane and Station Lane

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

N.B. The works will be carried out in phases and B4RN will inform local residents when and how the works will progress. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall: (i)Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and (ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and (iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

quoting the reference SL22/14(3). The Order will come into operation on 14 March 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required between 14 March 2022 and 15 April 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
