Public Path Notice Footpaths And Bridleways In Grizedale Forest, Whinlatter Forest And Wythop Woods Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2022

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order. The effect of the order will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over footpaths and bridleways at Grizedale Forest, Whinlatter Forest andWythop Woods in the parishes of Above Derwent, Colton, Coniston, Hawkshead, Lorton, Satterthwaite and Wythop, because of danger to the public from fast moving vehicles during motor sports events.

The notice and plans showing the routes concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and online at

www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/

rowclosures.

The order will take effect on 00:01 on 2 December 2022 and will continue in force for six months but will only be in effect for four days within the six months period: for 24 hours, midnight to midnight (Grizedale East) on Friday 2 December 2022, Saturday 3 December 2022 (Grizedale West) and Saturday 11 March 2023 (Grizedale West, Wythop & Whinlatter) - the Wythop paths will also be closed after noon on Friday 10 March 2023. All the routes will be accessible as normal other than on these days. At times when the events are taking place, signs will be erected indicating that the routes are closed.
