PUBLIC PATH NOTICE
THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (FOOTPATHS AND BRIDLEWAYS IN GRIZEDALE FOREST, BROUGHTON MOOR, WHINLATTER FOREST, WYTHOP WOODS AND CHAPEL HOUSE PLANTATION)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 7 November 2017. The effect of the order will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding over routes in Grizedale Forest, Broughton Moor, Whinlatter Forest, Wythop Woods and Chapel House Plantation, because of danger to the public from fast moving vehicles during motor sports events. The affected routes can be seen on the plans available from the Authority on 01539 724555, or on our website: www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/ thingstodo/rowupdates/rowclosures. The order will take effect on 1 December 2017 for 6 months. It is anticipated that it will only be needed for two days within the six months that it is in force: for 24 hours (from midnight to midnight) on Saturday 2 December 2017 (Grizedale, Broughton and Chapel House), and Saturday 3 March 2018 (Grizedale, Whinlatter and Wythop). All the routes will be accessible as normal other than on these days. At times when the event is taking place, signs will be erected indicating the routes that are closed. There are no suitable alternative routes.
