Crosby Street, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

The County Of Cumbria (U2823 Senhouse Street And U276I Crosby Street, Maryport)
(Taste Of The Sea Festival) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Taste of the Sea Festival ("the Event") in Maryport, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to:

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2823 Senhouse Street, Maryport, from its junction with U2761 Crosby Street to its junction with U2806 King Street Alternative Route:

Eastbound Vehicles: via Crosby Street, Wood Street, A596, Hutton Place, Irish Street and the South Quay Bridge. Westbound Vehicles: via the South Quay Bridge, Irish Street, Hutton Place, A596 and the unrestricted section of Senhouse Street.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

2. Prohibit any vehicle to wait at any time, on any day or to load and unload at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of U2761 Crosby Street (both sides) from its junction with U2823 Senhouse Street to its junction with U2856 Wood Street.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by
statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for
pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads,
or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and
only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

, quoting the reference AL22-290. The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be required from 1600 hours on Friday 12 August 2022 to 2100 hours on Sunday 14 August 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
