THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U2489 DEVONSHIRE STREET, WORKINGTON AND U2867 MARYPORT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Hatton Traffic Management to carry out works to remove and Install poles on behalf of BT ("the Works"), the Count/ Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U2489 Devonshire Street, Workington from its junction with Harrington Road, extending in a westerly direction for approx 45 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Devonshire
Street, John Street and Harrington Road.
Duration: From 5 August 2021 for approx. I day (Ref:
AL2I-32I)
2. U2867, Maryport from its junction with Lawson Street, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 95 metres to its junction with Senhouse Street.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Duration: From 10 August 2021 for approx. I day (Ref: AL2I-326)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and
(iv) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 5 August 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
