The County Of Cumbria (U2I07 Ireby To Whitrigg And U2263 George Street, Wigton) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out trial hole investigations and drainage works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road: -

1. U2107 Ireby to Whitrigg, from its junction with the A591, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 75 metres. Alternative route: Via the unrestricted section of the U2107, U2103 Torpenhow, A595 Bothel and the A591.

Duration: From 2 May 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: AL22-099).
2. U2263 George Street, Wigton from its junction with William Street, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 80 metres. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Duration: From 5 May 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref:

AL22-I00).
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by
statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for
pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads,
or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and
only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 2 May 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
