THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (BS304 HIGH STREET, WIGTON) (WIGTON CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL AND
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON EVENT] (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Wigton Christmas Festival and Christmas Lights Switch On ("the Event") in Wigton and to enable members of the public to watch the Event, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the B5304 High Street, Wigton, from its junction with the B5302 King Street, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx.230m to its junction with the U2263 George Street
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via King Street, A596 towards Thursby, A595 towards Workington, B5305 towards Wigton and the unrestricted section of the B5304. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

The Order will come into operation on I December 2019 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required from 0900 hours to 1800 hours on Sunday 1 December 2019 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed Chief Legal Officer, Cumbria County Council, Cumbria House, 117 Botchergate, Carlisle, CAI IRD.
