THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U254I HUNTER STREET, WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable The Coal Authority to carry out demolition works to properties No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 Hunter Street ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the U254I Hunter Street, Workington, from its junction with Vulcans Lane for its entire length to Grey Street

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Grey Street, Harrington Road and Vulcans Lane. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

2. Apply to personnel or vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 14 weeks and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
