THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C500I KIRKSTONE ROAD (THE STRUGGLE), AMBLESIDE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria County Council to carry out gully cleansing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the C5001 Kirk stone Road (The Struggle) from its {unction with the A59I Rydal Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 4.7km. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the A592 Kirk stone Pass, A592 High Kingate, A592, A592 Patterdale Road, A59I Ambleside Road, A59I Lake Road: A59I Rydal Road (south bound), A59I Market Place (south bound), AS9I Lake Road (south bound) A59I Wansfell Road (southbound): A59I Wansfell Road (north bound), A593 Rotiiay Road, AS93 Compston Road (north bound) and die A59I Rydal Road. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency personnel or emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done witii tire permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

4. Apply to personnel or vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

quoting the reference SL20/253. The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
