DUNNERDALE-WITH-SEATHWAITE PARISH
EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDERS 2019
NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Secretary of State has granted extensions to the above Orders made by the Lake District National Park Authority.
FP 521011, Tarn Beck-Ordercame into effect on 20 November 2019
prohibiting all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over footpath 521011 at Havelock Cottage and Tarn Beck, Dunnerdale, Dunnerdale-with-Seathwaite Parish, from the road at Havelock Cottage at SD 2260 9600 northwards to and across the bridge over Tarn Beck to SD 2258 9605, because of danger to the public caused by undercutting of the central pier and loose abutments leading to a possible collapse of the bridge. Closure extended until 20 December 2020.
FP 521055, Foss How - Order came into force on 11 December 2019 prohibiting all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over footpath 521055 near Foss How, Dunnerdale-with-Seathwaite Parish, from SD 2388 9849 on the northern bank of the beck west of Foss How to SD 2388 9847 on the southern bank of the beck west of Foss How, due to danger to the public from an unsafe footbridge. Closure extended until 31 September 2021.
The notices and plans showing the routes concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Murley Moss, 01enhol11e Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; 11 South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; ;and at Ulpha General Stores, Ulpha, Broughton-in-Furness, Cumbria LA20 6DX; ;and are also available online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/ thingstodo/rowupdates/rowclosures

The closures have been extended as we have been unable to carry out the work as planned due to the coronavirus pandemic and can only install the bridges during the summer months. We hope to replace both during the summer of 2020 if possible. Signs will be erected showing the clos??d path. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
