THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLISLE

(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION AND MINOR AMENDMENT VARIATION PAY BY TELEPHONE) ORDER 2012 (VARIATION NO 4: SANDS CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT) ORDER 2019

NOTICE Is hereby given that the Council of the City of Carlisle (also known as the City Council of Carlisle) ("the Council") proposes to make an Order as set out above In exercise of the powers under Section 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and under Part 6 and Schedules 8 & 9 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and with the consent of the County Council of Cumbria given under Section 39(3) of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.

The effect of the proposed Order is that the Council of the City of Carlisle (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation and Minor Amendment Variation-Pay by Telephone) Order 2012 as amended ("the Order") is further amended as follows:

1. At Schedule 3 of the Order showing lists of Pay and Display Car Parks



with accompanying plans the designation of the Sands Car Park shall be amended by removing the plan coloured green thereto and inserting a new plan showing the extent of the revised car park edged in red within which a reduced number of 120 spaces are scheduled to be made available.

2. At Schedule 3 of the Order the days and times of operation relating to the Swifts Bank Car Park shall be amended to expand the permitted category of car park users and clarify the hours of public use



3. At schedule 9 of the Order the table relating to Tariff Bands at Swifts Bank Car Park shall be amended to enable the general public to park at Swifts Bank every day subject to applicable tariff and use provisions.

Any objections to the proposed Order must be sent in writing to the Corporate Director of Governance and Regulatory Services at the address below by not later than 23rd August 2019.

Subject to prior approvals as required by statute from third parties. This Order shall come into operation on 1st October 2019 and may be cited as The Council of the City of Carlisle (Consolidation and Minor Amendment Variation Pay by Telephone) Order 2012 (Variation No 4: Sands Centre Redevelopment) Order 2019
