ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A56 TRUNK ROAD [SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY] [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A56 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Rossendale, in the County of Lancashire, to enable barrier replacement works and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety.

The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on all traffic on the southbound carriageway of the A56 Trunk Road, from a point 1060 metres north of Church Lane Bridge, to a point 385 metres north of Church Lane Bridge. The restriction is expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 00:01 on Thursday 21 June 2018 and ending at 23:59 on Sunday 31 March 2019. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates, or continue until completed. The restriction will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
