THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS, KIRKBY LONSDALE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of a filming event ("the Event") by Voyage Productions Ltd in Kirkby Lonsdale and to enable members of the public to watch the Event, the County Council of Cumbria intends, to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 16(B)(1)(b) of the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to impose the following restrictions, but only on the days specified;

A. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of the U5406 Kirkby Lonsdale;

(i) Mill Brow, from its junction with the B6254 Main Street, extending in an easterly direction for approx 45m; and

(ii) Horse Market, from its junction with Mill Brow, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 105m; and

(iii) Back Lane, from its junction with Horse Market, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 85m; and

(iv) Jingling Lane, from its junction with Back Lane, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 90m; and

(v) Market Square, from its junction with Jingling Lane, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 40m.

Duration: from Monday 14 May 2018 to Wednesday 16 May 2018.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
B. Prohibit all traffic (vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Kirkby Lonsdale;

(i) U5406 Market Square, from its northern and southern junctions with the B6254 Main Street, extending for its entire length (Market Square loop); and

(ii) B6254 Main Street, from its junction with the B6446 New Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx 75m; and

(iii) U5406 Jingling Lane, from a point 30 metres west of its junction with Back Lane, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 65m.

Duration: from Wednesday 16 May 2018 to Friday 18 May 2018.

There is not suitable alternative route available.
C. Prohibit any vehicle to wait at any time, on any day or to load or unload, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) on the following lengths of the U5406 Market Square, Kirkby Lonsdale;

(i) Market Square (north side), from its northern junction with the B6254 Main Street, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 19m; and

(ii) Market Square (east side), from a point approx 3m north of its junction with Jingling Lane, extending in a northerly direction for 17m; and

(iii) Market Square (south side), from its southern junction with the B6254 Main Street, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 25m.

Duration: from Saturday 12 May 2018 to Saturday 19 May 2018.

D. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles in respect of the restrictions detailed in A(i) to A(v) inclusive above, which are being used in connection with the Event.
(v) Apply to vehicles or personnel in respect of the restrictions details in B(i) to B(iii) inclusive above, which are being used in connection with the Event.
