ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE M6 MOTORWAY [JUNCTION 36 SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY & EXIT SLIP ROAD) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M6 Motorway in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to enable carriageway patching and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety. The Order will:
i. impose a 50 mph speed limit on all traffic on the M6 southbound carriageway, from a point 1204 metres north of Sillfield Bridge, to a point 40 metres south of Moss End Lane Bridge;

ii. ban all traffic from the M6 southbound exit slip road at Junction 36.

Restriction i is expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 20:00 hours on Tuesday 8 May 2018 and ending at 06:00 hours on Monday 14 May 2018. However, works may start and continue beyond these dates until completed. Prohibition ii is expected to take place over one night between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours during a period starting on Tuesday 8 May 2018 and ending on Monday 14 May 2018. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway will be well signed. The restriction will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibition and restriction will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
