ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 36 NORTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY & SLIP ROADS) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the District of South Lakeland, in the County of Cumbria, to enable resurfacing works, carriageway reconstruction works, bridge works, and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety. The Order will:
a) impose a 50 mph speed limit on all traffic on the northbound carriageway of the M6 Motorway, from a point 238 metres south of Chapel Bridge, to a point 448 metres north of Sillfield Bridge.

b) ban all traffic from the following sections of the M6 Motorway:

i. the northbound carriageway, from a point 124 metres north of Moss End Lane Bridge, to a point 324 metres north of Farleton Interchange North Bridge;

ii. the northbound exit slip road at J36;

iii. the northbound entry slip road at J36.

c) allow the hard shoulder adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the M6 Motorway to be used as a running lane, from a point 1,062 metres north of Chapel Bridge, to a point 210 metres north of Sillfield Bridge. A 50 mph speed limit will be imposed on all traffic using the hard shoulder.

d) impose an overtaking ban on all Heavy Goods Vehicles on the length of carriageway described at c) above.

Restrictions a), c) and d) are expected to take place during a continuous period starting at 20:00 on Friday 1 October 2021 and ending at 06:00 on Sunday 5 December 2021.
Prohibitions b) are expected to take place overnight between 20:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Friday 1 October 2021 and ending on Sunday 5 December 2021. However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter-maintenance vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 30 September 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information, please contact
