Cummersdale, Temporary Footpath Closure due to diversion of gas mains

(FOOTPATH NO. 111006 IN THE PARISH OF CUMMERSDALE AND CALDEW CYCLEWAY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council on 9 August 2022, which became operative on 15 August 2022, to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out works for the diversion of a high-pressure gas main ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 15 February 2023
:has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 15 July 2023.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists to proceed along the following:
An approx. 600 metre section of Public Footpath No. 111006 at Mill Race in the Parish of Cummersdale, between Grid References: 339441 552506 and 339051 552150: and An approx. 289 metre section of Caldew Cycleway, between Grid References: 339499 552788 and 339441 552506; and An approx. 54 metre section of Caldew Cycleway, between Grid References: 339125 552204 and 339097 552156.
There are no suitable alternative routes available for pedestrians or cyclists.
