Snary Back, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (A5086 Snary Beck And C2064 Lambfoot) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out carriageway patching works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

1. A5086 Snary Beck, from a point approx. 278 metres north east of its junction with the C4006, extending in a south westerly direction for approx.; 2.7kms.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A5086, the A595 Whitehaven and the A66 Cockermouth.

Duration: From 7 November 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTRO/1720)


2. C2064 Lambfoot, from a point approx. 405 metres east of its junction with the C2025, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 2.6kms.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2064, Castlegate Drive, Main Street, Gallowbarrow, Lamplugh Road, the A66 and the B5291.

Duration: From 21 November 2022 for approx. 4 days (Ref: TTRO/1443)


A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall: (i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and (ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and (iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.) Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are stated above.

The Order will come into operation on 7 November 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
