Carlisle, Temporary Traffic Notice

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1026 CUMWHITTON, PRINCESS STREET AND STAINTON ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Openreach to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. C1026 Cumwhitton, from its junction with the U1406, extending in a south easterly direction for approx 400m; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, C1027 and the C1039.
Duration: From 0930 hours to 1500 hours on 31 October
2022 (Ref: TTRO/1515).
2. Princess Street, Carlisle from its junction with the Botchergate, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 10m;
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: 2 days between 0930 and 1530 hours on 2 November 2022 (Ref: TTRO/1493).
3. Stainton Road, Carlisle, from its junction with the A689, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 1.2km; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Stainton Road, Etterby Road, Kingmoor Road and the A689.
Duration: 1 day on 8 November 2022 (Ref: TTRO/1607) A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are detailed above.
The Order will come into operation on 31 October 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
