A596 And C2054 Workington, Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction due to Contractor Works

(A596 AND C2054 WORKINGTON)
(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2022


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Plus to carry out utility works ("the Works), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along the following sections of road:-

1. A596 Workington: From its junction with the U2184 extending in a northerly direction to a point approx. 220m south east of its junction with the U2497 Ellerbeck Lane.

2. C2054 Workington: From its junction with the U7141 Jubilee Road extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the A596.

N.B. The 30 miles per hour speed restriction will operate where contractor's operatives and plant are working on site to protect the workforce.

No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 20 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for approx. 1 month and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
