The County Of Cumbria (A684 Ann Street And Castle Street, Kendal) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria County Council to carry out culvert repair works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect
of which is to:

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A684 Anne Street, Kendal, from a point where it meets Castle Street to the point it meets Wildman Street and Longpool. Alternative Route for north west bound vehicles: via the A684 Castle Street, A684 Sedbergh Road, U856 Sandylands Road, A685 Appleby Road and A6 Longpool

Note: the alternative route detailed above is not suitable for vehicles exceeding 12'9" (or 3.9m) in height due to a low bridge on the A684 Castle Street/Sedbergh Road.
2. Prohibit any vehicle which exceeds I2'9" (or 3.9m) in height from proceeding along that section of the A684 Castle Street, Kendal, from its junction with the A65 extending in an easterly direction for approx. 200m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

2. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

3. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is SL22CCC/9/10.

The Order will come into operation on 5 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 4 weeks, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
