The County Of Cumbria (C5057 Hall Road, Burn Eside And Serpentine Road, Kendal) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Openreach to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. C5057 Hall Road, Burneside, from its junction with U5839 to its junction with the C5056 Staveley Road;

Alternative Route: via the C5056 Staveley Road, A6 Skelsmergh/Shap Road, A6 Sandes Avenue, A5284 Stricklandgate, C5058 Burneside Road and the unrestricted section of C5057
Hall Road.
Duration: From 10 August 2022 for 1 day.

2. U 859 Serpentine Road, Kendal, from its junction with Low Fellside, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 180m; Alternative Route: via the U808 Low Fellside, U843 Queens Road and the unrestricted section of Serpentine Road. Duration: From 11 August 2022 for 1 day.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 10 August 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
