St Bees, Definitive Map Modification Order

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA

CUMBRIA COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF ST BEES: DISTRICT OF COPELAND)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER NO 2 2020


On 7 April 2022 the above named Order was confirmed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The effect of the Order, as confirmed, is to modify the definitive map for the area by by deleting that length of public footpath no 423011 in the parish of St Bees from GR 296997 511135 southwards and southwestwards for about 56 metres to GR 296973 511090 and adding a new section of public footpath no 423011 from GR 296997 511135 westwards for about 21 metres via a kissing gate to low wooden steps either side of decking over the railway and down 15 concrete steps to another kissing gate at GR 296977 511132; then southwards for about 42 metres via a culvert/clapper bridge to GR 296973 511090. The width of the new section of path will vary from 0.9 to 1.8 metres.
A copy of the Order and map may be inspected free of charge at St Bees Post Office, 122 Main Street, St Bees, CA27 0AA and at the offices of the Countryside Access Team, The Parkhouse Building, Kingmoor Business Park, Carlisle CA6 4SJ by appointment only quoting ref 5.2.361 (tel no 07920 711254). Details of the Order can also be viewed on the County Council's website and copies of the Order may be purchased at a cost of £2 per A4 sheet and £3 per A3 sheet. The Order come into force immediately, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, within 6 weeks from 20 April 2022 make an application to the High Court.
