Aynam, Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians

The County of Cumbria (Footpath nos. 536260 an d 536261 and Footpath between Little Aynam and Footpath no.536260 in the parish of Kendal) (temporary prohibition of pedestrians) order 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council on 2 November 2021, which became operative on 8 November 2021, to enable Story Contracting Ltd to carry out works for the construction of Gooseholme Footbridge ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 8 May 2022 : has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 8 N ovember 2022. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following lengths of Footpath in the Parish of Kendal:
1. The entire length of Public Footpath No. 536260, between Little Aynam, over the River Kent, to New Road; and

2. The entire length of Public Footpath No. 536261, between St George's Walk and its junction with Footpath no 536260; and

3. The entire length of the (unnumbered) Footpath, which extends from Little Aynam to its junction with Footpath No.

536260.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians will be available via the footways on Little Aynam, Bridge Lane, Bridge Street, A65 New Road, Stramongate, Castle Street and St George's Walk. If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate Minister.
