The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads, South Lakeland Area) (Consolidation Of Traffic Regulations) (Order 2002) (Various Roads, Windermere) Variation Order 2022


1. Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that on 8 March 2022 it made the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 19, 32, 35, 35A, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 64 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The Order will come into operation on 28 March 2022 and its effect will be to introduce the following restrictions in Windermere:-

(a)"No Waiting At Any Time" (double yellow line) restrictions: -
(i) On the first 60 metres of Craig Walk, from its junction with Lake Road;

(ii) At both junctions of Brook Road with Lake Road and New

Road;
(iii) On parts of Church Street at the junction with St Mary's Park; and

(iv) On parts of St Mary's Park and St Mary's Park (cul-de-sac). (b)Introduce "Waiting Limited to 2 hours, Return Prohibited Within 2 hours" restrictions on parts of Church Street (A591) and St Mary's Park;

(c) Introduce "No Waiting, 9 am - 7 pm" waiting restrictions on parts of New Road (extension) and Lake Road;

(d) Amend the existing restrictions to accommodate the above proposals.

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 8 March 2022 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
