TRAFFIC ORDER 2021 NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order. The effect of the order will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over a section of bridleway through The Cross at Dale Park, Grizedale Forest between SD 3512 9415 and the road at SD 3548 8405, to enable felling and extraction of timber.
The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4D0j and at Hawkshead TIC Main Street, Hawkshead, Cumbria LA22 ONS; and online at

The order will take effect on 14 January 2021 and will continue in force for six months, but the work is expected to only take just over two months, as and when the signs are displayed. When works are taking place, signs will be erected showing the closed path and an alternative route. The path will be accessible as normal other than on these days. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State. Authority Solicitor, 9 December 2021
