THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U2295 UDALE STREET, U2558 LADIES WALK AND U2559 TIFFIN LANE, WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of the dangerous condition of a building adjacent to the roads and to enable demolition works to be carried out ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which Is to prohibit all traffic (vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the following lengths of road;
I) U2558 Ladles Walk, Workington from a point approx 70 metres south east of its {unction with Speedwell Lane, extending in a south easterly direction for a total distance of approx. 35m; and
ii) U2559 Tiffin Lane, Workington from its junction with Pow
Street, to its junction with Ladies Walk; and
Hi) U2995 Udale Street, Workington from a point approx 45m
west of its junction with the U2662 Udale Street, extending in a
westerly then southerly direction for a total distance of approx
35m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Suitable alternative routes for pedestrians and cyclists are available as follows:
U2558 Ladies Wallc via the unrestricted sections of Ladies Walk, the A596, U2662 Udale Street, Pow Street and Speedwell Lane.
U2559 Tiffin Lane: via the unrestricted section of Ladies Walk, Pow Street and Speedwell Lane.
U2995 Udale Street: via the unrestricted sections of Udale Street, and Pow Street
N.B. This follows 2 emergency notices dated 23 February 2021 and 16 March 2021.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and
2. Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 6 April 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months, However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 12 weeks and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
