• The introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy may seem complicated, especially for smaller firms who may not immediately see how it will benefit them when they are not a direct contributor.
• The new skills team at Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership is already looking at how the latest arrangements will affect local firms, from larger employers paying the levy through to SMEs and smaller supply chain businesses who may be able to work together to maximise training resources.
• Cumbria LEP is working with partners to organise events across Cumbria, bring employers together and discuss how to address the key issues, the level of advice and support required and how businesses can fully utilise the levy.
