The LEP has announced the following investments in Cumbrian businesses:

A £93,000 investment has been helping Ulverston-based Marl International access more high-tech production techniques and equipment to increase its production capabilities and supply the latest LED technologies. The investment from Cumbria LEP is part of a £523,000 initiative to install new production lines for surface mount technology components.

Ast Signs , a UK market leader in vehicle graphics, commercial signage and interior branding, has benefited from investment to help exploit a range of new technologies and build a bespoke headquarters and manufacturing hub on Eden Business Park in Penrith. The firm’s £1.9m building was supported with a £300,000 grant.

Carlisle-based Calder Foods secured grant funding of over £167,000 via Cumbria LEP to update existing production lines and create 20 jobs as it continues to deliver fresh food to major clients countrywide.

Pure Lakes Skincare , which creates natural cleansing and moisturising skin care products and luxurious, hand-made toiletries with minimal environmental impact, secured a £14,000 grant primarily to fit out extended premises near Kendal and purchase new equipment to increase its manufacturing capacity.
