The news comes just weeks before the introduction of the apprenticeship levy on Thursday, April 6 which will bring new approaches to apprenticeships and workplace learning in Cumbria.
The University of Cumbria is actively developing a range of new higher and degree level apprenticeships for employers in the region, building on a successful track record of working closely with public and private industry to tailor training according to business need.
Elaine Flowers, head of educational partnerships and lifelong learning at the University of Cumbria, said: “As a main provider of apprenticeships, the university is ideally placed to help businesses in Cumbria, Lancashire and beyond develop their staff and help to create the workforce of tomorrow.
“The university is keen to engage with employers across Cumbria and staff here are looking for new opportunities to share our existing expertise in areas such as management, health and teaching more widely.”
In order to be registered by the Skills Funding Agency, the university had to satisfy SFA requirements relating to due diligence, capability, quality and financial health.
