THE University of Cumbria is offering businesses free apprenticeship levy advice sessions.
This charge on employers to fund new opportunities will apply from May.
The university aims to let firms know how they can benefit and how the university can help with training.
Ewan Pullan, its employer engagement manager, said: “It’s an exciting time but we know businesspeople are busy so we wanted to offer advice on the new apprenticeships in a format that suits commerce and in straightforward language.
"We’ve produced an employers’ guide setting out how the levy and funding works and have arranged special events where we hope we can help answer queries.”
These take place at the Business Interaction Centre in Paternoster Row, Carlisle city centre on February 14, at the university's Ambleside campus the following day and at the Lancaster campus on February 17.
