Cumberland Council is on a recruitment drive, searching for new apprentices to start this September.

Applications are now open and will close at midnight on Sunday, March 24.

Prospective employees can apply online, where they will find an array of vacancies across the Cumberland area including Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, and several other localities.

The breadth of roles on offer includes civil engineering, highways maintenance, adult support care, customer service, business admin, and early years educator.

Many successful apprentices will have the chance to secure permanent roles once they finish their apprenticeship.

Adult social care worker at Cumberland Council, Francis Armstrong said: "The benefits of apprenticeships are massive, personally and professionally.

Ms Armstrong completed her BA Social Work Apprenticeship through the council, going on to secure a career in local government.
