Cumbrian civil engineers RH Irving Construction Ltd has been awarded a top industry accreditation.
The Longtown-based firm was awarded Gold member status by Constructionline, the UK-wide procurement and supply chain management organisation.
In order to qualify for the award, RH Irving Construction had to meet criteria, including standards of environmental and quality management, equality and diversity procedures, and demonstrate they abide by legislation covering modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, and equal opportunities.
Jane Brownlee, the company’s resources and development director, said: “We aim to work to the highest professional standards, and this enhanced level of Constructionline membership demonstrates that the procedures we have in place have been scrutinised and verified to underpin client confidence in our systems.”
News of the award coincides with a series of new appointments at RH Irving Construction.
Fred Chambers and Bryan Plunkett have joined the firm as quantity surveyor and site manager respectively.
Both have many years’ experience within the construction industry and will be working together on a number of new projects in south west Scotland.
Meanwhile Tania Bell is the firm’s new HR officer, having joined from JDP, and former Edinburgh Napier student Tam Pagan has been recruited as a trainee quantity surveyor.
